Raising Future Fans: Geeky Parents and Children Speak Out

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

If you love anime, cosplay/costuming, gaming, and mega-media geeky franchises like Disney/Harry Potter/MCU/Star Wars, then come learn about how parents have found creative ways to integrate their favorite fandoms into child-friendly fun for the whole family. Hear directly from parents and children about ways you can merge a variety of child-friendly fandoms into your household on a daily basis. Enjoy a thoughtful discussion, including Q&A time, on ways to lessen dependency on electronic devices with activities to inspire the next generation in the greater fandom community. Panelists include Tom Ammonn (anime/gaming fan and parent), David Biffith Jr. (Star Wars fan and parent/grandparent), Karen Jallion (artist and mother), Sandra Durbin (parent, costumer, sci-fi movie and book fan), and moderator Anastasia Hunter (all-around fan girl and aunt of three younglings).
